Proposal
My project will be an extension on an already standing structure located in Kanakadea Park. The standing structure is a red fence leading up the side of a hill into the woods. The stress on our sculptures to be soft and child friendly has been a large contributor in the concept of my potential structure. The fence is old and missing a couple railings, there are also small gaps in the fence. Although these pieces of missing fence may go unnoticed by others, my piece will highlight these sections but transform the feelings of insecurities into an obsessed sense of protection. My extension, airbag like structures filling the gaps and missing parts of fence will create a neurotic feeling towards safety. The plush like balloons made of fabric and straw will create a cushiony padding where nothing can fall through, for example small children.
