  1. The display and title lend a lot to this piece. It is easily connected with it's cooking connotations but beyond that it is difficult to tell what's going on in this piece. With the title you get a hint at what it might be about. The baked shape is not distinct and thus it is hard to distinguish just what it is. In fact, when I saw this piece set up, classmates gathered around and asked what it's about. Donna proceeded to answer the question in which students said, "Oh". I believe first and foremost as artists we are visual communicators. It shouldn't take verbal communication to understand a piece.
