Self Portrait

  1. I am looking at an object that is casting a wonderful shadow on the wall. I see a candle lighting the interior of what looks a little like a metal cage. I am seeing two different shadows leaving two different images. In the second picture the object is shown in a light that lets me know exactly what it is. It is a hanging candle holder with two images of Chuck welded in steel on the sides of the holder. It seems to me that Chuck is an object stuck in a cage and is only allowed out at night.
The workmanship of the object is lovely and looks very clean. I think the welding is well done and of high quality. The black color shows me a desire to bring the project to full completion.
I appreciate the thoughtfulness of the photography. The light used in the first and third photo is perfect. I do wish that the second photo wasn't even put on the blog. It takes away from the mysterious aura acheived in picture one and three. In the second picture I see what the object is but it makes me feel a little disappointed. I've lost that haunted feeling produced in picture one and three.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful self portrait with us Chuck. I look forward to seeing more of your exquisite metal work soon.
