When I first saw Jeff's piece I thought of the Roman myth of how women came into existence. In this myth women are made from scraps of animals, such as limbs and fat and fur, which are included in Jeff's sculpture. Jeff's sculpture also disturbed me mildly when I first saw it because the color of the wax used reminded me of raw meat, it was very effective for the piece. The placement of the human hands on the piece made me think it was questioning, or praising something. I think the pedestal choice for this piece was good because it put it at about our height, which was effective because part of the sculpture was a cast of a human's torso. I would have never guessed the reasoning behind this piece, but after Jeff explained it, it made sense. I think this piece may have profited from documentation about the wax used in bikini waxing. Overall, I enjoyed this piece, and all the things that could be related with it,a such as woman being "pieces of meat".
